The real precise subracks, put-in boxes and racks must be able to provide reliable structural support and mechanical protection for internal hardware system. The funny thing is that some chassis of poorly-quality have to rely on PCB bus board and link converter to balance the levelness and perpendicularity errors of chassis structure, have to rely on structure strength of PCB card and link converter to overcome the internal harmful stress caused by processing precision inadequate of chassis.


How to detect the whole structural precision of chassis, plug-in box and racks, there are some rapid, simple effective detection methods. But some professional features such as material, environment tolerant ability, vibration resistance, flame resistance, heat dissipation and electromagnetic compatibility still need professional testing equipment.


The first method: Three isometric assay

The following measurements, as shown in figure A \ B, can detect the parallel degree index of the whole enclosure

The errors between A1\A2\A3, B1\B2\B3 which are less than or equal to 0.2 mm are precise.

The errors between A1\A2\A3, B1\B2\B3 which are less than or equal to 0.4 mm are qualified

The super differences between A1\A2\A3 affect positioning accuracy of PCB board, causing too much clearance; the super differences between B1\B2\B3 lead to harmful bite stress from bus converter; influence circuit stable work, reduce using life of bus converter.

The second method, Diagonal isometric assay

The following measurements, as shown in figure C \ D, can detect vertical degree index of the enclosure

The errors between C1 \ C2, D1 \ D2, which are less than or equal to 0.3 mm are precise.

The errors between C1 \ C2, D1 \ D2 which are less than or equal to 0.6 mm are qualified

Super differences make the enclosure transmit harmful distortion power to the PCB bus board; produces angle between PCB board centerline and bus converter centerline; influence bus board stable work, reduce the using life of bus and converter.

The third method is a multiple of 5.08 mm center distance

The following measurement, as shown in figure E, can detect processing accuracy of the enclosure

The errors between E1 \ E2 which is less than or equal to 0.1 mm is precise.

The errors between E1 \ E2 which is less than or equal to 0.3 mm is qualified.

Super difference causes inaccurate positioning of PCB bus board and PCB board; makes PCB bus and PCB board lack of effective stress support; influence system stable work, reduce the using life of card and converter
